Do Re Mi Doggies

Dog Advocate / Dog Rescue

in Southeast Kansas

The main purpose of Do Re Mi Doggies is to help owners of dogs to rehome their animals

- By getting a dog into a breed rescue or mixed breed rescue

- By avoiding having to surrender the dog to a shelter where it would be in danger of being put down

- This web site is also a resource you can use when you want information on rehoming your dog yourself

- Last, but not least, Do Re Mi Doggies offers help for dog owners that are patient, but want help in finding their dog a rescue or an alternative to a euthanizing humane society.

This page, and the contact links listed here, should help people of southeast Kansas to have access to dog rescues nationwide.

Rescues are usually made up of individual homes that give the dog a better environment than most shelters have the resources to provide.  The dog also gets more individual attention and has more opportunities to find the right home.

There are many things to consider when finding the best new home for your dog.

As a dog advocate, Do Re Mi Doggies can assist you in locating the appropriate rescue or rescue contact information.

Do Re Mi Doggies is a home based foster home.  We only take in one or two foster dogs at a time which means we are virtually always full.  However, if you are able to care for your dog until an alternative can be found, many times there is a rescue organization for your animal.  It does take patience and knocking on a lot of doors, but it is well worth the effort.

Do Re Mi Doggies will not judge you for making the decision to rehome your dog.

The fact that you are interested in finding a good home, rather than just dumping it, or taking it to a shelter shows that you are concerned for the dog's welfare.

Please recognize the fact that this process may take time, and is not always successful.  There is always the option of humanely euthanizing your animal, or taking it to a shelter to give it one final chance at adoption.
